I'm all for games that boost creativity but kids need to learn how to lose and lose with grace. Our youngest would cry every time she lost a game (which isn't very often since she always seems to win). She had to learn that if she was going to be a sore loser that we wouldn't play with her anymore. She's a lot better about losing now.
Sorry to hear about all that is and has gone wrong this past year. Just so you know, unfortunately, you're not alone. The past couple of years have been unusually rough on us and others I know as well. The good news is - things have to get better - right? I keep telling myself that and most of the time I believe it. :o) Have a great (better) New Year!
Thank God you are on your way home - hopefully already there. What an awful experience. Thanks for journaling your story. It puts us "too busy" people in our place and reminds us what is really important. Happy New Year to you!
Yes, he will be missed. Being on the younger side, I've only seen him at least twice a day on TV and in Dirty Dancing but I really like his style. I would like to see some of his earlier work. It always sucks when people die but it really pisses me off when it happens at times that are supposed to be happy and celebratory. God Bless him and his family.
I haven't seen the movie - the plot doesn't interest me. Even though, I know what you are saying about Portman being more "girl-like" than "woman-like". It's just not in her - at least not yet. She is young and should stick to roles that suit her cute, bubbly personality.
Movies Natalie Portman has been in and are available on DVD:
There are always those that seem to really enjoy all of the Christmas hoopla. It's amazing to me. Where does this come from? I never had a bad Christmas and always do what I have to do to make the kids happy and Christmas memorable. Beyond that, forget it. I'm happy these people exist though. Without them, I wouldn't get the boost I need to do what I do get done.
