Welcome to the dark side. :o) I too was reluctant when I was given my first digital camera. So far I have really enjoyed having it - for all of the reasons Nancy listed in her post. My only major complaint is that my camera doesn't do well in lower light situations or shots that are over 5 feet or so away. The prints turn out dark and if you try and fix them they are grainy. I know I need to get a new camera with a better flash but we're talking some $$$. My favorite feature on my camera? The video feature. I love it! Most of the time all you need is a snip-it of video anyway. Make sure that any camera that you are looking at has audio. For some reason my husband's camera has video with no audio. ??? Also, it is usually cheaper to have your prints printed in store than at home and the quality is better. You can still only pick the photos you want and the sizes you need. It's even easier now that you can upload your order to the store and pick them up the next time you're there.
