I don't know how the lunch program works in Great Britian but I do know how it works here in the US. How does Jamie Oliver propose parents to make their kids hot luches? How are they going to stay hot? Sounds like he would rather have us let our kids buy thier lunch from school - of course most of us moms know how utterly fattening those lunches are. Who serves cheese sticks as a main course? Our school - that's who. I'll stick with ham & cheese with fruit and chips Jamie. You got a problem with that - come see me.
Have you actually seen his show?
He's not saying parents have to send their kids with hot lunches. But if they are bringing a lunch it shouldn't be packed with crap found and for kids who are already purchasing their lunches he's made a bunch a cost effective, nutritious meals that can be served up instead of junk.
He's also trying to get hot meals for lunch in more impoverished areas where kids might not see a good nutritious meal otherwise.
